MAKEVDF

Function

Brings in the VDF (version definition file) from a named GEORGE partial source tape and sets up the filestore version. The filestore version also includes a record of the tsns of the tapes involved.

Format

MAKEVDF VDFfile description,REEL0(tsn, name),REEL1(tsn, name),REEL2(tsn, name)

Where

• VDF gives the file description of the VDF file to be set up
  
  
• REEL0 gives the tsn and, optionally, the name of the tape containing reel 0 of the partial source
  
  
• REEL1 gives the tsn and name of the continuation reel of the partial source
  
  
• REEL2 gives the tsn and name of a tape containing local source; this only applies to sites with their own modifications to GEORGE

Execution

The tape specified in the REEL0 parameter is opened and the VDF read in from it. The tsns given by the REEL0, REEL1 and REEL2 parameters are then prefixed to the file, which is copied to the file specified in the VDF parameter.
