WRONG (WR)

Function

Makes a peripheral unavailable for use by GEORGE.

Format

WRONG peripheral description1,peripheral description2,...peripheral descriptionn,

where the parameters specify the local or remote peripherals to be made unavailable.

Execution

If this command is issued from a remote console, it may be used only to WRONG a peripheral in its own cluster. If it is issued from the central console, it may be used to WRONG any central or remote peripheral of the correct type. It is not permissible to WRONG a direct access device, an operating console or a MOP console.

Provided that the command can be issued from the issuing console and that the peripheral exists and is not busy, it is marked 'WRONG' irrespective of whether it was previously marked 'RIGHT' (see the RIGHT command).

The message
    UNIT peripheral description WRONGED
is output on the operator's console from which the command was issued.

If the peripheral is bust, it is marked 'Waiting to be wronged' and the message
    UNIT peripheral description WAITING TO BE WRONGED
is output on the operator's console from which the command was issued. The peripheral is marked 'WRONG' when it is freed.
