It is not a command. A comment line must start with

character of a record. This character need not be
followed by a space. Any characters may follow
"#" up to the end of the record, but the
comment line cannot be carried over to the next

The command processor does not analyse a comment line.
As soon as it reads the "#" character, it
writes the whole record to the monitoring file system
